Developing Life-Long Skills in Making and Appreciating Music

Our goal is to encourage musical expression and enjoyment in our community by providing music lessons to children and adults, helping them to develop life-long skills in making and appreciating music.

  Private Lessons

Private Lessons meet weekly for 30, 45, or 60 minutes, depending on the student’s ability and preference, and are scheduled by teacher and student at mutually convenient times. We offer lessons in:

  • Piano
  • Voice
  • Violin and other stringed instruments
  • All band instruments
  • Guitar
  • Percussion

  Saturday classes for young children

  • Music Play for Babies and Toddlers - with a caregiver
  • Music Play for Preschoolers -  A drop-off class for ages 3 – 5.  Parents are welcome to observe the first week.
  • Music Play for K and 1st- Songs and musical activities for children in Kindergarten and First Grade.

  Youth Orchestra  

Youth Orchestra will continue to meet during 2014-2015.  Stay tuned for updated information, or contact jehenderson@harding.edu. The program will be taught by adjunct instructor of music, Jennifer Henderson with additional assistance provided by Harding music students.

Recital  Recitals

Recitals are held at the conclusion of every semester, allowing our students the opportunity to share their musical accomplishments with family and friends. All students are strongly encouraged to participate.

The Searcy Community School of Music is sponsored by the Searcy Arts Council, and is not affiliated with Harding University. We express our appreciation to the Department of Music for allowing us the use of their facilities.
